Collection: Eva Ohlow (1940)

Eva Ohlow, born in Cologne in 1940, is a versatile artist whose work is characterized by profound cultural and material explorations. She studied at the Werkschulen in Cologne and Wuppertal from 1958 to 1966 and worked as an assistant for art in architecture under Prof. Hubert Berke until 1979.

Her international experience had a profound impact: in 1976, she spent time at the Villa Romana in Florence, in 1983 she traveled to India, and from 1988 to 1992 to Central Africa, where she explored fetish sites and pygmy protective tattoos. These experiences influenced her artistic practice and led to her participation in the "Afro-European" symposium under Johannes Rau.

Ohlow also devoted herself to architecture, as demonstrated by her studies of mud architecture in Mali and Burkina Faso in 1998. In 2004, she was a guest lecturer at a sculpture exhibition in Wiesbaden's Stadtpark. In 2011, she undertook a study trip to Toluca, Mexico.

Today, Eva Ohlow lives and works in Cologne. Her work reflects the diversity of her travels and her deep interest in the cultural and symbolic expressions of humanity.
